With the off-season prematurely upon us I must be honest, it hurt. It hurt a lot. But then I took a step back and looked at my time as a Phillies fan.

The Sixers began Doug Collins’ tenure as coach with a 103-96 preseason loss to the Nets on Tuesday night in Roanoke, Va.
Tuesday night, Doug Collins will coach his first NBA game since April 16, 2003, when Collins and the Washington Wizards lost to the Sixers, 107-87, in Michael Jordan’s NBA finale at the Wachovia Center.
Coach Doug Collins said he expects Turner, the No. 2 overall pick in June’s draft whose future is at shooting guard, to play mostly the point in the preseason, which starts Tuesday night against the Nets in Roanoke, Va.
