Nice shutout win.
Only quibble is you want to see the pitchers be more efficient. Wheeler uncharacteristically giving up more walks than usual lately.

Not sure I understand having Kerkering do a 40-pitch outing, which kind of sidelines him for the first 2 games of Padres series.

Wheeler awesome, with the only quibble that it took 100 pitches to get through 6 innings. We'll need 9 outs from the pen.

I wish we could go to October RIGHT NOW with the way Wheeler-Nola-Suarez are pitching.

Boras' big clients:

Jordan Montgomery: Had to settle for a 1-year deal with Arizona

Blake Snell: 11.57 ERA with Giants, going on IL with left adductor strain

Cody Bellinger: One-year deal with Cubs (with player options)

Re: Phillies' 2024 GDT #24: 4/23/24 Phillies(15-8) @ Reds(12-10) - 6:40pm

1. Turnbull isn't staying in the rotation 2. Even if Turnbull WERE staying in the rotation, he's going to be capped around 90 innings this season, given how little he's thrown the past couple of years. So he would just be Strahm 2.0 (for 2024), starting for about 40% of the season and then going to ...

I'm sorry, but platooning Marsh and Stott to this extent is absurd.

You want to stay in the hunt for the division for as long as possible. I know WC worked out fine the past two years, but staying out of that series is the easier path.

Atlanta's hitting way better than us, but our SP is far superior and at some point their thin pitching is going to cool them off.

At some point, Clemens is going to make more sense for the bench than Pache.
At this point, though, you wait as long as possible to make that decision, in case Merrifield actually IS Josh Harrison 2.0

Well, Harper will be a nice boost to the bench when he returns :D
