Solid (and cheap) 4 or 5 was always my ceiling for Suarez, and I think he can be that. If you think back to what he was considered 1 year ago, before his great run, that'd be considered a bonus. From roster filler to serviceable 4/5 works for me. I'm not convinced at this point that a solid and che...

Funny how different these two teams are, with their near-identical records.

Can totally see the Braves winning 12 of 15 and making a big run.

Hard to even imagine Phillies winning 2 or 3 series in a row, at this point. Can't get enough bats hot at once.

Do the Nola haters still want to get rid of him? That 2023 team option for $16M is a no-brainer. He may pitch his ass off between now and the end of 2023, in order to land a nine-figure deal and get out of town. That still benefits the Phillies tremendously for the next season and half. If next sea...

Re: 2022 Philadelphia Phillies general thread

I suspect the plan may be Nola OR Eflin in 2023.
If they can't go long term with Nola, they may move him this winter, and then they have Eflin locked in.
If they extend Nola, then there's less pressure to keep Eflin at that $15M figure.

Sobering thought: If the Phillies are going to make the playoffs, they will almost certainly have to finish with a better record than the World Champion Atlanta Braves.
