Would be an upgrade for the newly acquired Castro.

Kingery will never play for the Phillies and should really give the Phillies back some money. Hopefully he's ready for a second career.

He was hitting .228 for the Pirates until they sent him down in June and was hitting .225 at AAA.

The Phillies are closing in on a deal with Pittsburgh:

LHP Bailey Falter for multi-position RH hitting IF Rodolfo Castro
Don't see how this helps. No problem DFAing Harrison, but Is this an upgrade?

Actually, maybe the bullpen should be. They've been great, but also starting to show overuse. Alvarado is still not ready. Dominguez doesn't appear healthy. A solid reliever is always welcome.

Maybe Casty to the Marlins. That's where he was headed last year before the lock-out. Not sure what the Marlins would give, though.

Re: 2023 MLB Trade Deadline rumors & discussion (Deadline: Aug. 1)

I feel like all the rumors we're seeing out there are from writers asking other teams who the Phillies are interested in. If you notice, there hasn't really been anything new in three weeks. No one saw the deadline deals last year until they happened. Dombrowski will do something. I just hope he doe...

Re: 2023 MLB Trade Deadline rumors & discussion (Deadline: Aug. 1)

Here are the top seven payrolls in MLB: 1. Mets 2. Yankees 3. Padres 4. Rangers 5. Phillies 6. Dodgers 7. Angels. So, whose making the playoffs? Forget about the top 3. The Rangers are in unless they have a monumental collapse. The Phillies probably go down to the last weekend of the season. This is...

Re: 2023 MLB Trade Deadline rumors & discussion (Deadline: Aug. 1)

It's hard to think about moving a player like Nola, who's been so good for so long, but do the Phils think they can sign him? Should they sign him? He's not old, but he's thrown a lot of innings without really getting hurt. Maybe the timing is right. Despite his inconsistency, he's still a good pitc...

Re: Phillies' 2023 GDT #105: 07/30/23 Phillies(56-48) @ Pirates(46-58) - 1:35pm

Last year the Phillies played hard for Topper. He had the players' back and they appreciated it after Girardi. This year that same approach might get him fired. There's no accountability for sloppy play. Hitters have slumps. Fielders make errors, but the mental mistakes on this team are going to kee...
