Castellanos missed a hanger middle middle. Very disappointing.

Welp. That's it.
Fuck around walking Mets you wind up shitting the bed.
Seems like Thomson gave up on this game.

They just don't play well vs this team.
No part of the game and unfortunately it makes Hernandez look like he's right.

I don't understand Castellanos' swing. He drags the bat through the zone with his left hand and doesn't use his right side at all. He seems to have no bat speed. It's a bad look.

That was deflating and incredibly anticlimactic.

I'd shop Nola this winter.

Making up for most of the 2010s, in which the Mets underachieved and always got their hats handed to them by even some mediocre Phillies teams. The worm has turned.

Problem is that they already are going to need 2 starters and Abel/Painter are still a year away.
Unless the Phils get dominant pitching, they can't beat a good team

They've moved up to AA, with any success for either or both, I'm giving them both a big league spring training invite and giving them both a full opportunity to see if they're ready to graduate to the back end of the rotation.FolesMVP09 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 20, 2022 2:55 amProblem is that they already are going to need 2 starters and Abel/Painter are still a year away.

Problem is, I don't know that you can count on Eflin and they badly need him as a stable #3. I think Suarez has shown he's capable of being a #2 to Wheeler's #1. If you trade Nola for a package with a young pitcher with potential for a 4th spot, you could begin 2023 with:
Wheeler
Suarez
Eflin(?)/Gibson
Gibson/Trade Pitcher
Painter/Abel
I'd put whichever prospect doesn't make it in AAA to get ready for spot starts or injury replacement. If you trade Nola to restock, sign a 2/3 starter if there are concerns about Eflin's health.

You can't count on Eflin. He has a $15m option with a $150K buyout. I have to believe that he'll be a free agentBelmontShore wrote: ↑Sat Aug 20, 2022 2:40 pmThey've moved up to AA, with any success for either or both, I'm giving them both a big league spring training invite and giving them both a full opportunity to see if they're ready to graduate to the back end of the rotation.FolesMVP09 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 20, 2022 2:55 amProblem is that they already are going to need 2 starters and Abel/Painter are still a year away.

Gibson is also a free agent
I don't see them spending big on a free agent with 2 (hopeful) studs on the way
I don't see the Phils letting a pitcher with just a few AA starts go north with them. Mid season -definitely
