So we get to pretend every AL game is the World Series even if we don't make it. Cool...Christopher wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 4:09 pm A reminder that we'll be getting the 2023 schedule fairly soon, and it will have some big changes:
Beginning in 2023, teams will play five fewer games against division opponents, instead playing one series against every team in the other league. Teams will continue to play their “rival” Interleague team four times, twice at each ballpark.
Teams will face their four division opponents 14 times each season -- seven home and seven away -- for a total of 56 games. They will also face the other 10 teams in their league six times apiece, playing a three-game set at each ballpark.
Rather than 16 Interleague games, teams will have 46 such games on the schedule -- four against their geographic rival and three each against the other 14 teams, alternating ballparks annually.
Triple Crown in 2022?
Not mentioned much, but there's a serious shot Paul Goldschmidt gets a triple crown this year. He's either 1st or 2nd in the categories that matter. This is something that's only been reached once since the 1960s - it's pretty big. I'd like to see him reach it - especially since many people thought he was fading the past few years.

Hasn't been a National League Triple Crown winner since Joe Medwick of the Cardinals in 1937.Ben Grimm wrote: ↑Fri Aug 26, 2022 12:43 am Not mentioned much, but there's a serious shot Paul Goldschmidt gets a triple crown this year. Hit .374 with 31 HR and 154 RBI. He also won the MVP that year.
Medwick still holds the National league record for doubles with 64 in 1926

And the only one being mentioned alongside Goldschmidt for MVP is his teammate, Arenado, who you could hypothetically argue is more valuable because he plays a Gold Glove third base.Ben Grimm wrote: ↑Fri Aug 26, 2022 12:43 am Not mentioned much, but there's a serious shot Paul Goldschmidt gets a triple crown this year. Only reason Cardinals aren't mentioned in same breath as Dodgers & Mets is because they have literally nothing else in that lineup that scares you surrounding Goldschmidt & Arenado.

For 2023 and beyond, I believe it's the Blue Jays.sentinelhyder wrote: ↑Fri Aug 26, 2022 3:26 pm wow 46 interleague games. also who is our "rival" interleague team?

Major League Baseball adopts pitch clock, limits shifts, installs bigger bases for 2023 season
