While it sounds cheap and easy to go all young in the infield, great teams have crazy depth because they need it, and it allows them to deploy players in advantageous situations. So what if Maton has flaws if you only use him where he is good.

McCutcheon puts the Brewers up 6-4

Need the Brewers to lose at least 4 of the next 9, hopefully more

Two up on the Padres,
Four up on the Brewers, for now.

The Phillies are also putting themselves in a position where, if one of those two teams goes belly up, they can basically just coast into the playoffs.

Don't see that happening. Just hoping that the lead over the Brewers is still 4 when they get to the final 10 game road trip

On that note, Cubs 6 outs away from beating the Mets for a 3rd straight time (scored 3 off of DeGrom). They already swept us once, so that series will not be easy

Well, Padres and Brewers both won.

Bright side is that we won a game we had ZERO business winning, and the bottom line is that we took a step closer to October tonight.
