Let me shine some positives:
In 3 straight wins against excellent teams, the Phillies have displayed great mental toughness in the most difficult moments. They have struggled, but never choked. They aren't the most talented team on the field, but they're the most confident one in this small small sample size.
Castellanos made up for months of struggle today. Just give us an October, Nick. Good job in the field, too.

And when I say good job in the field, that catch by Castellanos is usually the stuff nightmares are made of.

I guess my not watching was good luck
I put it on just after the Olson homer. So I was immediately in expecting the worse mode
Great to see big games from Nick, Bryce and Seranthony
Bullpen remains a big worry as Eflin is shaky, Brogdon is useless and no Robertson. Pitching for games 4/5 are a big concern, but let's see what happens the next 2 games
Big big win

No need to majorly sweat 4 and 5 yet.
Game 4, we might have both Thor/Falter available as a tag team, vs. TBA for the Braves
Game 5, you have EVERYONE available, as Braves choose between either shaky Fried or Wright on 3 days' rest.
If Phillies can now take 2 out of 3, there is no Game 5.

We need Demolition.
Hopefully Wheeler & Nola are dominant

Unless they let the pressure get to them and tighten up at the plate (very unlikely), I see the Braves winning tomorrow. They know Friday at CBP vs. Nola would be a steep climb.
Phillies, OTOH, have the benefit of both playing relaxed, with house money, tomorrow AND having their ace on the mound.
Getting two more wins will be extremely hard, but I like their spot.

We will see what happens in the other 2 games, but if all 4 road teams win game 1, I expect that the 6 days off for the teams with a bye may be a source of complaint

They just won a WS - they won't fold like the Cards didChristopher wrote: ↑Tue Oct 11, 2022 9:50 pm Unless they let the pressure get to them and tighten up at the plate (very unlikely), I see the Braves winning tomorrow. They know Friday at CBP vs. Nola would be a steep climb.

Long way to go toward that outcome. The other thing I thought we'd hear more about is complaints about Cardinals winning division and then being ousted in 2 games.FolesMVP09 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 11, 2022 9:50 pm We will see what happens in the other 2 games, but if all 4 road teams win game 1, I expect that the 6 days off for the teams with a bye may be a source of complaint
At one point during negotiations, the wild-card series between the #3 wild card and the "worst" division winner was going to involve a best-of-three in which the division winner got a "ghost win" in Game 1 -- meaning the wild card had to win two in a row, period.

Every roster is different. that WS team was carried in October by Freeman, Albies, Duvall, Soler, among others. None there right now.FolesMVP09 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 11, 2022 9:51 pmThey just won a WS - they won't fold like the Cards didChristopher wrote: ↑Tue Oct 11, 2022 9:50 pm Unless they let the pressure get to them and tighten up at the plate (very unlikely), I see the Braves winning tomorrow.
