Possibly not, but I also get vibes that he wants the hell out of the Bronx. For such a record-setting year, dude didn't exude much joy.

I watched him all year. He never exalts in his own performanceChristopher wrote: ↑Fri Nov 11, 2022 1:20 pmPossibly not, but I also get vibes that he wants the hell out of the Bronx. For such a record-setting year, dude didn't exude much joy.
He is a total team guy who shows great joyful emotion when his teammates succeed
First one out of the dugout when someone hits a walk-off or homers
To your point about wanting the hellout of the Bronx, don’t know where you get this
He is out and about in NYC all the time..Rangers,Knicks,Nets games..He’s loving NewYork.
Now,if SF or LA comes with $400 mil for 8 or 9,maybe he goes..I don’t see it..

Thanks. Appreciate this insight. It will be interesting to see what happens, for sure. He's definitely going to get paid. Seems like 8/300 is probably the starting point for negotiations with whatever team lands him.bigel57 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 11, 2022 2:15 pm

I think it'll be 8/$260.Skyjack wrote: ↑Thu Nov 10, 2022 6:50 pmIf that would do it, the Phillies should grab him. SSs usually are the best athletes on the club and age pretty well if their arms hold up. CIP-Bowa.Christopher wrote: ↑Thu Nov 10, 2022 4:46 pm I think to land Turner it will take something like 7/180. That's the reality of it.

poach some of them.
phillies made an unprecedented run but you can't let post season unexpected success cloud your judgment.

Astros give reliever Rafael Montero a 3/34.5 deal.
Interesting times for bullpens. Several thoughts:
-- The Astros have the best bullpen in baseball and they're paying big money to keep it together
-- I think history will continue to highlight the ways Thomson used his bullpen throughout October, mostly with great success, to focus on turning-point moments and matchups, rather than defined roles.
-- So what do we think about the Phillies bullpen in 2023? I think with the regular season generally not having the magnitude of October baseball, Thomson will be more conservative/traditional with his bullpen. I see Dominguez and Alvarado sharing the closer role. Brogdon and Bellatti are solid, and it Brogdon's October was the real thing, he could be much more than solid. Beyond that, they'll need 3-4 guys, and you'd like the minor leagues to cover at least one of those spots. And you'd prefer not to spend $34M+ on a reliever until it's necessary. They have 1 more year of Alvarado control and 2 more years of Dominguez control.

Some MLB Trade Rumors offseason predictions:
-- Aaron Judge, 8/322, return to Yankees
-- Carlos Correa, 9/288, most say Giants
-- Trea Turner, 8/268, 2 out of 4 say Phillies
-- Xander Bogaerts, 7/189, 2 out of 4 say Dodgers; none Phillies
-- Dansby Swanson, 7/154, 3 out of 4 say Cubs
-- Carlos Rodon, 5/140, 2 out of 4 say Mets; 1 vote for Phillies; 1 vote for Rangers
-- Jacob DeGrom, 3/135, 2 out of 4 say Rangers
-- Justin Verlander, 3/120, 2 out of 4 say Astros; 1 vote for Phillies
-- Noah Syndergaard, 3/36, all 4 guys picked a different team; none picked the Phillies
-- Taylor Rogers, 3/30, 1 vote for Phillies
-- Jose Quintana, 2/24, all 4 guys picked a different team; none picked the Phillies
-- Zach Eflin, 2/22, all 4 guys picked a different team (including a Dodgers vote); none picked the Phillies
-- Carlos Estevez, 3/21; 1 guy picked Phillies
-- Ross Stripling, 2/18, 1 guy picked Phillies
-- Jean Segura, 2/18, 1 guy picked Phillies
-- David Robertson, 2/16, 2 guys picked Mets
-- Adam Ottavino, 2/14, 1 guy picked Phillies
My thoughts: (1) I don't want anything to do with Verlander, (2) that price seems super-reasonable, and perhaps low, for Quintana; (3) not really interested in Stripling; (4) Y'all will yell at me, but I'd bring back Robertson if it's a one-year deal; I think overuse was the biggest problem down the stretch
