They're going to have to use Alvarado for 1-run saves & for tough spots in the 7th and 8th.
Kimbrel will have to close when it's a 3-run lead.
Soto is going to get a chance very soon for key innings.

Gotta keep an eye on Milwaukee & St. Louis. If they're both 90-win teams, the path to the playoffs becomes extremely narrow. Basically Phillies or Mets for last spot.

Gibault is not great. Let's see if we can last-gasp something here.

Also it’s a lot of money being paid to starters that are not really delivering much.

4 and 2/3 is not good enough from your starter.

Very true. Need 6-7 inning starts from Nola, Wheeler, Walker.
The sad reality though is that baseball is shifting toward 6-inning starters, at best, until it's crunch time.
Bullpen looks a lot more reasonable if you only have to get 6-9 outs from it, but alas.

With tomorrow being Strahm vs. Alcantara, this was a game we needed.

Now we're staring at 3-7 by tomorrow night.

They're going to spend months digging out of this.

Some of these pitchers were not prepared for dealing with the pitch clock
