Too early to worry about the other wild card contenders - it is about whether the Phils can win at least 88 games

They needed to keep Strahm in the rotation and demote Falter

0-6 5.75 - yikes

Falter doesn't deserve to be 0-6. He's pitched better than some of the others at times.

The problem, again, with Strahm is that he's just not going to be a full-season solution. If they make him throw 80 innings in the first half, he's looking at a worn-out arm, at best. Now, maybe that's the bridge they need to get to the trade deadline and add arms, but it seems a less than ideal plan, and one with no wiggle room.

Let's face it, they're on a path to Nick Nelson in the rotation by month's end.

and you are right on Strahm, but they can't keep rolling Falter out there either

Falter is John Denny compared to Taijuan Walker so far.
Can't replace everyone.

Yes, Ranger's coming back. Then the next guy up is probably Cristopher Sanchez again.
There was no plan to bridge the gap before the baby aces were ready.

True. Some bats are off right now but the pitching and defense has been the real problems
