i don't know anything about Lee. apparently Lorenzen is near career high in innings so curious as to how they use him with 2 months plus hopefully postseason left.

Confirming Phillies-Tigers deal of Michael Lorenzen for Hao-Yu Lee.
The Phillies are likely to go to a 6-man rotation temporarily since their next off day isn't until Aug. 14.
Then they'll reassess.

So, the scapegoat for this teams' poor performance to date is Christian Sanchez.

They probably see Sanchez as the best LHed option in the pen than what it would take to trade for one.
They do need a quality reliever. Shame for Sanchez who was really rounding into a quality starter.

There's a lot going on here, and he's quality depth for the entire staff.
-- no off days in the first half of August will be tough for SP and RP both
-- Suarez has been bad lately, maybe HE moves back to the pen
-- Lorenzen could go to pen eventually and be a Strahm-type, which is especially important given Dominguez/Alvarado uncertainty. For better or worse, this is a Hoffman-Marte-Soto-Kimbrel right now, but you have to GET to those guys.
-- Yes, Lorenzen could take Sanchez's spot, but it's hard to see that as the #1 option if Sanchez keeps pitching like he is
Mostly, this helps us avoid a nightmare scenario where Bailey Falter or Nick Nelson have to enter the rotation

This moves screams that they are done with Nola and will try to sign Lorenzen as a FA

Marlins get low-OBP basher Jake Burger and will presumably have him at DH for final 2 games of this series.

The Los Angeles Dodgers and Detroit Tigers had a trade in place for left-handed starter Eduardo Rodriguez, but Rodriguez invoked his 10-team no-trade clause that included the Dodgers and the deal is now dead, sources tell ESPN.
==================
My guess: He is safely headed for a big free-agency payday. One thing that could dampen the mood is if he gets rocked in the postseason for the Dodgers on national TV. Also, that's another whole month of something that could happen to his arm.
