Last Phillie to hit a HR in his first AB - Marlon Anderson
Prior to tonight - 5 no hitters since
Clearly Wilson's feat is rarer

Kind of surprised Wilson hasn't gotten a shot from someone before now. It would be fun if he could stick around for a couple years on the bench. Maybe he can become what Harrison was seven years ago. I suspect the question will be how many positions they're truly comfortable putting him at. He's the kind of guy who had a lot more value when teams needed pinch hitters and didn't carry 13 pitchers.

Wilson will go back down when Pache is ready, but would be good as one of the 2 9/1 call-ups (the other being a reliever)

There is no doubt the Phillies have underachieved most of this season, but at the moment they have the third-best record in the National League.

Half the lineup is subs and they produce a 7-0 no hit performance.
That's baseball.

Was Utley's grand slam in his first game? I think his first hit was a double in that game.FolesMVP09 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 10, 2023 2:36 am Last Phillie to hit a HR in his first AB - Marlon Anderson

His first start, but he had pinch hit earlier in the season.Captain Obvious wrote: ↑Thu Aug 10, 2023 10:53 amWas Utley's grand slam in his first game?
