Schwarber has got be hurt. He was below average in the field last year, but serviceable. This year, he's awful, though the effort is there. He stole bases last year, but this year he's not. Sure it was the element of surprise in most cases, but he's not doing that this year. He's never going to be a good average hitter, but last year, he wasn't an automatic out. He does have 30 HR and 73 RBI. He shouldn't be hitting leadoff, but Thomson refuses to see it. It's like he feels Schwarber is his good luck charm and he won't move him. I think his knees are bothering him more than anyone is saying and it's affecting all aspects of his game.
