Schwarber shouldn't be wasting away 3 or 4 months out if the season to finally figure out that he needs to walk or hit the meatballs outChristopher wrote: ↑Wed Sep 13, 2023 2:13 amLove the pivot from dump Schwarber to dump Castellanos, who has even less trade value. (Not by you specifically, just in general)

Schwarber and Casty aren't going anywhere and if you want Hoskins back you have to realize that either him or Schwarber has to play the field every day. They can't both DH. I'm also in favor of leaving Bryce at 1B. He's good there.wrench248 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 13, 2023 2:29 amEven though he is a butcher in the field, I see the Phillies resigning Hoskins. I don't see them leaving Harper at 1B.Christopher wrote: ↑Wed Sep 13, 2023 2:24 amAre you resigning Hoskins in this scenario? Because you'd be looking at
C Realmuto
1B Hoskins
2B Stott
SS Turner
3B Bohm
LF Marsh + preferably a platoon guy
CF Rojas
RF Harper
DH free agent?
That just doesn't strike me as remotely enough offense. I think they need Schwarber next year; he's frustrating at times, but this offense becomes very very average without him

The game was lost in the 9th. Realmuto has to bunt there. I like Topper a lot, but his answer just doesn't cut it. I'm sure JT has bunted in his career. Topper has to know that. Every player in the major leagues should know how to bunt. I know analytics says you don't give away outs because it might prevent a team from having a big inning. You know what else prevents teams from having a big inning? Strikeouts and hitting into double plays. Plus, they didn't need a big inning. They needed to score one run to win the game. Terrrible.

Cubs lose, at least.
Wild card teams all playing .500 ball as Phillies stumble.

A guy like Topper has to realize that you need to mangae with your gut sometimes and not what a piece of paper tells you to do.

100% Agree. Heck, putting in Stubbs to bunt may have been an alternative, but that is somewhat outthere.Michael Jack wrote: ↑Wed Sep 13, 2023 3:19 am The game was lost in the 9th.
