You get Wheeler and Nola like we did last two nights I would say it's a very winnable series.
Braves could just out slug the bullpen which is my fear.
Key is scoring first, but you already know that.
...and hit! Got to hit! Take what these pitchers give them and stop trying to put the ball in the seats.

Game 1 is everything, just like last year. And you can't tell me the layoff won't have an impact out of the gate. Hard to imagine the Braves losing twice in 2 years with an even better roster, but we will see..Christopher wrote: ↑Thu Oct 05, 2023 2:43 am NLDS Schedule is WEIRD
Saturday: Game 1 in Atlanta
Sunday: Off
Monday: Game 2 in Atlanta
Tuesday: Off
Wednesday: Game 3 in Philadelphia
Thursday: Game 4 in Philadelphia
Friday: Off
Saturday: Game 5 in Atlanta
Wheeler can pitch Game 2 and 5 on normal rest.
Of course it means the pitching-strapped Braves (no Morton) can pitch Strider & Fried 4 times.

Game 1 is Strider vs. Suarez, and Game 2 is Wheeler vs. Fried.jrollin24 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 05, 2023 12:52 pmGame 1 is everything, just like last year. If Braves win Game 1, the pressure is still on them. They're the overwhelming favorite and they don't want to go to Philly with it 1-1.
Phillies need a split; doesn't matter which one.
That said, Thomson is in excellent position to throw EVERYTHING (spare Wheeler & Nola) in Atlanta in Game 1. Just ask Suarez to give it everything for 3-4 innings.

Given Atlanta’s scoring history this year,I’d say the 1st inning is pretty big for Suarez

The day off between games 1 and 2 - gives both mgrs a lot more flexibility for aggressive bullpen use.Christopher wrote: ↑Thu Oct 05, 2023 3:49 pmGame 1 is Strider vs. Suarez, and Game 2 is Wheeler vs. Fried.jrollin24 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 05, 2023 12:52 pmGame 1 is everything, just like last year.
