The Phillies have acquired right-handed pitcher Michael Rucker from the Chicago Cubs in exchange for cash considerations. To make room for Rucker on the 40-man roster, right-handed pitcher Andrew Bellatti was designated for assignment.

Phillies OF Brandon Marsh underwent successful left knee arthroscopic debridement surgery with Dr. Steven Cohen in Philadelphia this morning. It is anticipated that he will return to playing at 3 to 4 weeks and be ready to play by opening day.

The Phillies have agreed to a one-year, $2MM contract with right-hander Spencer Turnbull

Turnbull can also earn another $2MM in incentives.

The appeal here is that he's a starting pitcher who had success in the past, before TJS, and that he has a minor-league option remaining. He'll likely join Kolby Allard in Triple-A in the starting rotation, where they'll be stretched out and pitching regularly in case the need arises in Philly for a starting pitcher.
