Back from FLORIDA - Spring Training Report

Post by vegasphilly »

Went to Florida last weekend to watch the Phils

Saw them against the Astros and the Marlins.

Team does look "sluggish" overall. Especially the offense.....

In BOTH games MOST of the MAJOR player were not even at the park. This is 10 day before the END of SP

No Harper, No Schwarb, NONE of the major Pitchers....

These were NOT SS games. Weird.

Team looks flat. Not getting my hopes up for the (as usually NOT) "fast" start...

Hope I'm wrong.

The vibe was just weird. No excitement....

Thanks for the report.
I guess we just have to trust that these veterans know how to ramp up for the start of the season, especially since they'll be facing Spencer Strider on Opening Day!

This is the best-positioned, health-wise, the Phillies have been for a strong start in a while. It would be nice not to repeat 2022 and 2023, where we were playing catch-up all summer (even though it ended well). Let's try to stick with the Braves for as long as possible.

HARPER

Manager Rob Thomson said Sunday that Harper has been held out the past few days with back stiffness and won't play Monday, but the slugger is expected to rejoin the lineup later in the week...

Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
