I wish they had gotten Halliburton, other athletic assets AND kept Curry & Drummond. They'd be a much, much better, deeper, more capable team.
This year isn't the year to judge the trade. What happens in the offseason and next season specifically will determine it. Rarely does an addition at the deadline (even one of a Harden type player) actually do enough to put you over the top. Going into next season (presumably) with Harden and adding the pieces around him and Embiid will create "the team" that we will ultimately want to see here. I don't think we're winning it this year, but next year, all expectations should be on championship or bust.
