This from the team that got how many years out of Prince Fielder.....I thought he might get 4/90-100M. Pure cash grab for Semien....the Rangers have nothing on that team...good RFer and now him.

I dont think the Phillies will be standing pat, now way after MVP and 2nd in CY on your team.
No one thinks that they are standing pat, but unless they are willing to go over the luxury tax, there is very little hope

With the 12/1 labor deadline it is a fast moving market

Whatever the Phils "plans" really are, they are doing a good job keeping it out of the rumor mill

It is not ideal given the amount of positions they need filled. It does make me think they are working on some type of blockbuster trade.

1. Mets looking to land either Scherzer (Who they are offering $40M+ per year) or, as their "backup," Gausman, after that bundle of bats they added. They are ultimately the team we have to pass for #2 in the division and the shot at a wild card

2. Some disparaging words about Texas, but they are spending money and positioning themselves to be a better team than the Phillies very soon

3. A blockbuster trade for the Phillies? I dunno. I'm not even sure blockbusters happen anymore. Only trades they've really been associated with are for Kimbrel or Hader. Either deal, I fear, is sure to disappoint. Also, those deals can be done just as easily after the freezeout.

4. Other than their lust for a closer, I have no clue what the Phillies are planning to do about 2/3 of their outfield and planning for a DH in 2022.

5. If I was in charge, gimme Stroman, Bryant and one of Castellanos/Suzuki/Conforto. ... (Unless they're eyeing one of the $300M shortstops, in which case I'm interested)

Hate fraud Mids.

Can’t spend a penny past the tax or make in season trades unless it guarantees a World Series.

Hate that fraud

Phillies going to strike back by signing Jordan Lyles to a minor
League contract with an invite to spring training, and then leak A story about how much better Bohm is going to be working with a new swing coach.

Mids going to try selling "getting the band back together" after trading Jean for Kimbrel, signing Cesar and Galvis and having Diekman be their other bullpen addition.
