As many years as you've watched sports, watched baseball in particular, have you never developed the sense of when a team has quit on their coach/manager?

This team is totally uninspired. They show little to no effort in producing even good at bats, let alone runs. They don't appear to even be competitive.

The core of this roster did not like how 2021 went, they had doubts about Girardi. I'm telling you right now, they had a good thing going in the Spring, they had handled the As in the opening series' 1st two games and then Girardi screwed the pooch with that series final roster and cost them a sweep. He's been messing with the roster ever since and they have no cohesiveness whatsoever. None of their at bats are linked together, they don't build to anything. They don't rally, they don't move runners. They swing at pitcher's pitches. Each hitter looks like they're trying to get theirs while they're in the lineup that day because they could be sitting the next day, none of them know who's playing, day to day, other than Harper.

Set the fucking lineup and leave them in place for 10 games, rest your catcher as a DH, only. You watch the best teams, like the Braves last year. They pencil in the same order every game.

This team has quit on Joe Girardi. Hell. Let Charlie Manuel finish the season the way Paul Owens did in 1983.
