Yeah,but better than Kennedy.
Re: Philadelphia Phillies 2021 Offseason
10 million for one year. Which is totally fine but at that point just match Hector's deal or sign Graveman too.
Re: Philadelphia Phillies 2021 Offseason
Graveman got $24 mil for 3 years Too rich IMO...Hoping that Brogdon can be that guy I’m guessing
Re: Philadelphia Phillies 2021 Offseason
They need more than one guy in the pen and giving 10 million to a guy who has thrown 39 innings in the last three years as their "big move" seems a bit strange.

Big names out there and the Phils need a lot. No help coming from the farm system. Braves and Mets will be better........and the Phils are dumpster diving.

I do like Knebel though, he's very good. Their approach to everything (as always) just seems strange.

If they're trying to contend AND stay under what the 2021 "cap" was, then Knebel for 1/10 is not a good use of coin.
So I will give them the benefit of the doubt (LOL) and assume this means their payroll in 2022 will go over the cap (LOL)
Bring on many more signings

I agree with you there on all of that. Also sort of dumb to think about if they are going over the cap it doesn't make a lot of sense to not at least match Neris' deal considering how many RPs they need.Christopher wrote: ↑Wed Dec 01, 2021 10:50 pm If they're trying to contend AND stay under what the 2021 "cap" was, then Knebel for 1/10 is not a good use of coin.

Knebel basically replaces Neris. The only good thing is that it's just one year.
Re: Philadelphia Phillies 2021 Offseason
I honestly think they will if the players want to come to Philly. They honestly dont have a choice IMO. If you are already spending 210M under the cap...then spending 50M over the cap only costs you 270M total. If you spend that extra 50M (60M w/tax), isn't it worth it???...think of all the extra ticket sales you are going to get, not to mention the court of public opinion. So IMO, it is a loss of money if they keep the payroll right at the tax but not going over...if that makes sense.Christopher wrote: ↑Wed Dec 01, 2021 10:50 pm If they're trying to contend AND stay under what the 2021 "cap" was, then Knebel for 1/10 is not a good use of coin.

So sign Bryant 7/170M 24.2M AAV
sign Schwarber 4/65M 16.25M AAV
Put about $25M towards pitching
That should leave them about 10-15M to finish out the roster/bench
Do it
