Every time Harris takes more than 3-4 dribbles, bad things happen. He should have never dribbled AWAY from the basket. He should have caught the ball at the FT line, reversed his pivot to face up and immediately driven left to power by Horford and get Al on his hip. Attack the defender, not back away and make him more effective as a defender. He played right into Horford's hands.

Yes he had COVID, but the most recent time missed was from a hip issue. He came back from COVD then missed a few more games with the hip.BelmontShore wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 3:22 am[The Philadelphia 76ers received reinforcements on Saturday when they welcomed back Joel Embiid and Tobias Harris from the health and safety protocols and a hip injury, respectively. It helped having their two leaders back on the floor despite the loss.]
The recent missed time was from the hip injury, not his health & safety protocol. That was the point.
Little miscommunication on the posts there.

I wondered why they didn't get it to Embiid who had the mismatch...
Anyway just a bad look, and a sloppy game all over. Should've never been in that position.

Rivers is terrible...that is why.Captain Obvious wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 12:10 pm I wondered why they didn't get it to Embiid who had the mismatch...

That is specifically Harris' fault. When he went up and caught the ball and came down, rather than reverse pivot and face up Horford in triple threat position, AS WE HAVE ALL BEEN TAUGHT SINCE WE WERE KIDS, he would have been in a position for the dump down.Captain Obvious wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 12:10 pm I wondered why they didn't get it to Embiid who had the mismatch...

Instead, for some inexplicable reason, he kept his back to Horford and dribbled away from Horford AND the basket for 3 of the 6 seconds remaining. So not only couldn't he attack Horford, but more importantly, he couldn't take advantage of the switch and dump it down to Embiid with Brown on him. Embiid either would have gotten a clean look over the top or Brown would have been forced to foul him.
I just don't get why he dribbled away instead of immediately facing up. I can blame Rivers for quite a few things, but Harris has Rivers throwing up his hands in disbelief multiple times a game, including all the times Harris doesn't take the open 3 and dribbles into a contested 2.

Then don't you leave Tobi on the bench and leave Maxey who can actually get to the basket by himself. Doc can't control what Tobi will do once with the ball, but he's obviously not playing confidently right now, just leave him on the bench. And not having a ball handler on the court either is a strange decision unless the ball is going to be inbounded to Embiid directly.

Sixers players are having their own issues....major shooting slumps for several players, but Rivers is not helping the team at all.erik wrote: ↑Fri Dec 03, 2021 5:42 pm Then don't you leave Tobi on the bench and leave Maxey who can actually get to the basket by himself.
