That's a lot of money.to use to rebuild the offensive attack, build better bench and find some pitching depth. I'm up for Suarez being the default #2. Sanchez should be the 4th, Walker in battle for 5rh. Use the money to find a quality #3.

Manager did not adjust. Kimbrel had no business pitching in game 4 after game 3. Negligence.

the thing with Casty is he is the easiest guy to pitch to/get out. i was shocked that Atl kept giving him pitches to hit. hes got one zone and they kept pitching to it.

In the easiest move of the offseason, the Phillies have declined Scott Kingery's $13M team option for 2024.

He gets a $1M buyout for the remaining $42M on his deal and becomes a free agent.

He earned $24 million from the Philadelphia Phillies. Not their best gamble, but certainly they've thrown away more money than that before.

I suspect he'll have offers to go to spring training with someone. He'll get a shot as a bench guy on a bad team.

BTW, he struck out in 29% of his Triple-A plate appearances over the past two seasons.

The more I think about it, the more I hope the Phillies extend a QO to Hoskins. If they don't, he's almost certainly gone. Some one (Cubs?) will offer him a lucrative one-year pillow deal and the kind of opportunity he wants.

This excerpt from the Inquirer makes a lot of sense and gives the Phillies the kind of depth they'd need for 2024, so that we don't end up with a boatload of Clemens/Sosa/Cave starts....

Realmuto (33.1%). The Phillies missed Hoskins often, never more than in the NLCS, when the Diamondbacks exploited their aggressiveness.

If Harper started, say, 108 games in the outfield and 54 at first base, Hoskins could start 108 games at first base and 54 at DH, and Schwarber 108 games at DH and 54 in left field. Marsh would move back to center, either on an everyday basis or in a timeshare with a right-handed hitter, presumably Rojas or Cristian Pache.
