Well, if he clears waivers (and he will) then the signing team would just pay the league minimum. Guardians (or Marlins depending on the trade terms) are on the hook

The Phillies are closing in on a deal with Pittsburgh:

LHP Bailey Falter for multi-position RH hitting IF Rodolfo Castro
Don't see how this helps. No problem DFAing Harrison, but Is this an upgrade?

They may end up dumping Sosa this winter
He was hitting .228 for the Pirates until they sent him down in June and was hitting .225 at AAA.

Kingery will never play for the Phillies and should really give the Phillies back some money. Hopefully he's ready for a second career.

Would be an upgrade for the newly acquired Castro.

Ah wasn’t sure about that. Then by all means bring him back.

Phils dealt Lee, their #5 prospect for Lorenzen, but Lee was kind of blocked at 2B and 3B for the Phils. This might look really bad in a few years, but I think this is a good deal for the Phils this year. He's a free agent, but maybe the Phils can resign him. Reportedly, the Tigers asked for Abel, Lee and another top 30 prospect for Eduardo Rodriguez. No wonder he didn't get traded. The Phils were in on Teoscar Hernandez, but they wanted Gabriel Rincones, the Phils #6 prospect, whose father played for the Mariners. I know the Phils were connected to a lot of OF the last few days, but I'm glad they didn't trade a good prospect for a rental.

Whether or not the Phillies make the playoffs, I think the Lorenzen trade was necessary. Pitching has carried this team, but it's wearing thin and there are 9 tough weeks ahead. Lorenzen won't only be judged by his performance, but by the load it takes off others.

Absolutely. It had to be a tough decision for the Phils because they really liked Lee, but it was the right one.
