Well, if he clears waivers (and he will) then the signing team would just pay the league minimum. Guardians (or Marlins depending on the trade terms) are on the hooksentinelhyder wrote: ↑Tue Aug 01, 2023 10:44 pmoh never mind then.FolesMVP09 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 01, 2023 10:38 pm That's a shame for Segura

Don't see how this helps. No problem DFAing Harrison, but Is this an upgrade?Christopher wrote: ↑Tue Aug 01, 2023 9:59 pm Jayson Stark

The Phillies are closing in on a deal with Pittsburgh:
LHP Bailey Falter for multi-position RH hitting IF Rodolfo Castro
He was hitting .228 for the Pirates until they sent him down in June and was hitting .225 at AAA.Christopher wrote: ↑Tue Aug 01, 2023 10:00 pm Castro has pop and five years of team control.
They may end up dumping Sosa this winter
Kingery will never play for the Phillies and should really give the Phillies back some money. Hopefully he's ready for a second career.
Would be an upgrade for the newly acquired Castro.Christopher wrote: ↑Tue Aug 01, 2023 10:35 pm newly acquired infielder Jean Segura will be released by the Cleveland Guardians.
Ah wasn’t sure about that. Then by all means bring him back.FolesMVP09 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 01, 2023 10:46 pmWell, if he clears waivers (and he will) then the signing team would just pay the league minimum. Absolutely. It had to be a tough decision for the Phils because they really liked Lee, but it was the right one.Christopher wrote: ↑Wed Aug 02, 2023 3:07 am Whether or not the Phillies make the playoffs, I think the Lorenzen trade was necessary. Pitching has carried this team, but it's wearing thin and there are 9 tough weeks ahead. Lorenzen won't only be judged by his performance, but by the load it takes off others.
