He got into the HR derby and became a mess at the plate. He isn’t a slugger. Batting him fourth in the order didn’t help. It only cemented in his head that he is a big hitter.

Thomson is almost the exact opposite of Bochy. No feel. Rarely do his moves work. He’s often a slow to adjust; this year all of his moves have been disastrous. Good luck thank you for 2022 but time to go.

Going against another tough lefty tomorrow. Wouldn’t be surprised if they get shut out. Would be a fitting end

Good job picking up Hays who supposedly hits lefties but doesn’t hit lefties when it counts

These players were like this before Kevin Long, they will be like this after Kevin Long. This is not Kevin Long's fault. These players do not learn from their coach or their experience. They see how they've been beaten, they are witness to how the Mets, Astros and Diamondbacks beat them, the approaches these teams have had. These Phillies' hitters all decide they are going to hit 5-run HRs with no one on base.
