So, 25-32 after the June 2 game was the low point, right?
Phillies are 20-7 since then.
Similar to last year obviously, hopefully the rest of the year plays out the same, but with 2 more post-season wins....
Any opponent but the Astros and that rotation, and we win the Series after leading 2-1. Oh well.
We may actually be in better shape than Houston this year.

Astros, rotation and whatever was on Valdez's forehead/hair/hat.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but since he's cheap anyway, I think that Bohm's defense at third base merits giving him through 2024 to find out if he can find more with his bat. It's not like we have a 3B in the wings.

WELP.
Matt Gelb
@MattGelb
Phillies are shutting down Andrew Painter. He went for more testing on his right elbow, Rob Thomson said.

Premature spit-balling
2023: Surgery
2024: Best case of 60 innings in the minors in the second half
2025: Probably capped at 100-110 innings between the minors/majors
Phillies need to get themselves an under-30 quality starting pitcher on the trade or free agent market this winter.

All the more reason to keep Noah Song, too.
MAYBE we get some rotation help from Abel and/or Song at some point in 2024.

I think that we all knew months ago that surgery would be the most likely outcome, but I understand why he wanted to try to avoid that

Not at all - he has done enough to get another year. Only 1 error
Plus has done a really good job with RISP

[Painter, who is MLB Pipeline’s No. 10 prospect, is undergoing testing because of “discomfort” in his right elbow, Phillies manager Rob Thomson said before Friday’s series opener against the Marlins at loanDepot park.]
Ok. That sucks.
