Unrelated to much: I can't believe how good Lance Lynn has been for the Dodgers
Nice job jinxing him.....

Cody Bellinger is going to get himself about $200M this offseason. Bonkers.

Ohtani cleared out his locker in the Angels' clubhouse and flew home to Japan.
He's going to have the most interesting contract in baseball this summer.
$500M is probably off the table, but we're looking at $350M+, opt-outs, clauses/incentives related to his ability to pitch, crucial physicals...
Another option could be that someone signs him to a $50M deal JUST to have his 2025 season, and then he hits free agency again.

Should have traded him last off season (let alone at the deadline) and get some good prospects to build around
2 Generational players for 5+ years and couldn't make the playoffs once

Orioles locked up AL East by winning these last 2
Rays/WC2 winner going to face them in the ALDS
If their bullpens hold-up - we could actually see both #1 seeds in the World Series. We can finally get to see Kyle Gibson starting a game 7......

Absolutely didn't have the Orioles playing like the best team in the American League this late into September.
I still think Houston is the team to beat, but Baltimore is something, beating the Astros in a game started by Kyle Gibson last night and holding a narrow lead over Houston thIs afternoon.
And they didn't even get much from their big deadline acquisition, Jack Flaherty

Yeah - you were right about Flaherty
What would be worse for the Phillies if they somehow make the playoffs?
1) Get swept in the NLWS
2) Lose game 7 of the WS 1-0 to Kyle Gibson

If the scores hold - Astros will fall to 1 loss outside of a playoff spot

I'd still probably take #2. ... But the problem with #2 is NOT the forever pain of coulda/woulda/shoulda. The real problem with scenario #2 is that it would probably lead to re-sign Nola & Kimbrel. Because there's no way they get that far without huge contributions from them.

AL West is CRAZY. Going to be a bonkers final week.
