High Risk, high reward. Good for the young man to commit to that franchise. I wonder if they gave an indication of a new stadium or increased payroll. The orgainization is truly amazing given their financial situation...but as a player, I would assume you want some assurances that they will at some point competetively spend

I think that fact that they're in the World Series hunt annually speaks for itself. He has a shot at a ring every year.
Spending huge amounts of money only becomes the necessary path when you're really bad at all the other parts of being a baseball organization.

1. I'm surprised that's all it took
2. Good move for Jays, but I think I'd rather have Ray, who proved he can handle the AL East
