Seager just got 325M over 10 years from the Rangers. That is crazy for a guy that never can stay healthy

Sounds like the Rangers are about to get Jon Gray too.

Even with their additions, the Rangers will probably still finish in last place.

When the clock strikes midnight, shame on the owners and the players association. They knew this day was coming, they know the world has changed and still yet, they are about to enter the first work stoppage in decades. Hopefully it ends soon, but 99% of all issues should have been resolved before the start of this week, finalizing the deal at 11:58 tonight. This could turn out to a be a really bad decision by a group of people that for the most part only care about themselves and what the percieve they are owed. Take a look around the room boys.

I get it, they will shape the face of baseball for the next 10 years and there are important issues...but these items have been here all year long. Get it done!

Bryce did a radio interview in which he said he thinks that if they can't resolve a new contract by early January, the two sides may agree to roll over the current agreement for one more year. Neither side -- especially the owners, who love this current contract -- wants the damage and uncertainty lasting into the start of spring training.

Not sure I fully buy this logic from Scherzer...

@Britt_Ghiroli
Scherzer said the Dodgers limiting his pitch count and trying to keep him fresh for the postseason lowered his work capacity and he thinks led to his dead arm. Said in DC he was relied on and pushed to consistently go 110 pitches every five days so more built up for ‘19 WS run

Negotiations have stopped for the day, 4pm....deal ends at 11:59....talk about giving up. Both sides had no intentions of getting a deal done. Pathetic. Welcome to baseball nuclear winter starting in under 8 hours
