But I blame that on the Brian Johnson + deciding not to hire a QB coach.

He has picked up some bad habits. Every decision until September 2024 has to be about getting Jalen right.
It's not habits.

It's the play design and the throws they're asking him to make depending on down and distance.

Did you see the stat on how many contested throws Hurts has to make? Didn't you post that? He's leading the league in comp % on expected. That's excellent. But where are the easy ones? Where are the tempo setter routes outside scripted? There are no 3 step drop ball is out play calls.

It is not Hurts. It is the scheme. It is the play design. Read, people. At least try to understand.

I mean he is right about the scheme. But he also is saying tonight:

“Jalen has thrown away multiple opportunities this game big play hunting. It’s a well established pattern and an inexcusable one that is dragging this team down.”

I think both are part of it. But again I think the offensive coaching is real bad and it’s also impacted Jalen negatively.

Your defense can't give up a TD drive in 1:27.

Think about that. There were 26 secs left after the Seattle TD. That's unthinkable and unacceptable.
Again. Defense should have never been put in that position.

Not one, two chances to put it away and bad calling and execution.

When you want to blame Hurts, watch this. Understand what it really means to have a RB who played the Eagles sit in a studio and call this out so completely.

This is incredibly damning.

Watch this.

It's the god damn defense's job. It's not supposed to be perfect. You have to be able to deal with what the game gives you.

They gave up TWO 3rd and 10s on that drive. TWO. They are, by far, the worst 3rd down D in the NFL. They dropped safeties 8yds behind the line to gain and the ball was thrown at the sticks and they weren't there. They let Lock stand back there and easily throw the ball.

I thibk Brian Johnson / Sirianni has destroyed the Eagles offense.

My point on Jalen is not that he is the primary reason. But that I am worried they are ruining him. He is falling back to some stuff we need to nip because I think he rightfully doesn’t trust the scheme and play calls.

If Hurts doesn't trust the scheme and play calls, he needs to voice that to the head coach immediately. The offense is supposed to be built around his strengths and the play calling should reflect that 100%. We all know it isn't, but no one on the team is going to listen to the fans, even if they're right.

Another thing that should probably stop are the questions about Hurts and his abilities. The second season in a row he's been an MVP contender right up until the end. Everyone saw what happened when the plays were called according to his strengths last season, we cakewalked to the Super Bowl, and only lost because Gannon was too busy worrying about his staff in Arizona.

He's our guy. Get behind it.

Jalen has lost confidence in the offense. Part of the issue is he doesn't like audibling out of plays because it's a poor reflection on Johnson. He doesn't want to make Johnson look bad and he will not call audibles as often as he might like.

Whatever happens, it will remain in this season. Hurts can shake this off in an offseason. He can go back to Tom House's QB program in SoCal. They can hire an experienced OC for next year. But this isn't a long term thing. He just needs a quality voice.

I've also begun to hear that analytics has taken hold in the offense helping to identify specific kinds of plays.
