They line up Ricks off the LOS on a blitz SO HE HAS RO BE FLATFOOTED when a receiver is driving on him. He has to wait to see if the route is inside or outside, by then, the ball is in the air.

If it's a blitz, you MUST JAM THE RECEIVER to take away inside release and reroute him.

It's scheme. It's setting up Ricks for failure.

Tell me one time today you've seen a DB or LB in a position to defend a pass, meaning knock a ball down or out of a receiver's hands. It hasn't happened. They are 4-5yds away on every single pass.
