How was Maxey inefficient when he had 35 points? With Embiid out he was pretty much the guy. 35 points is a good night.

He did get fouled BTW.

He scored 35 but needed 29 shots and missed 17 of them (41%). He actually had a great game because he was able to get to the free throw line 9 times, made some big buckets in the 4th quarter and OT, and contributed in other ways (9 assists). But as far as shooting the ball is concerned, he has had his struggles in recent games without Embiid (25 pts on 24 shots vs Utah / 20 pts on 22 shots vs Chicago).

When there are teams that have combo guards as their main scorers, they're often in a situation where they have to become high volume shooter/scorers. They can't be as choosey about shot selection. They have to get up shots to carry the offense.
