Wheeler pitching well, but he's really struggled to be efficient with pitches this year. We'll only get 5 innings out of him today.

Kerkering was gifted at least a couple strikes this inning.

Offense-wise, that has to be the ugliest win of the season.

They struck out 18 times, which is abominable.

That said, it's a win.

I'm happiest for Wheeler, who is now 3-3 and has pitched well enough to have 6 or 7 wins. I hope he's dueling Saurez and Nola for the Cy Young Award all season long.

Ultimately, you can have two things on getaway day on a West Coast trip:

-- an ugly win
-- an ugly loss

The first is obviously better, if you're trying to win the division.

Offense owes the pitchers a couple blowout wins.
