I don't understand people saying Vierling is having a great spring when his stats are almost identical to Bohm's, who no one would say is having a good spring. I guess it's all about expectations.

Vierling started hot and Bohm cold, not that Bohm is hot, but Vierling is cold and Bohm has been betterMichael Jack wrote: ↑Mon Apr 04, 2022 11:51 pm I don't understand people saying Vierling is having a great spring when his stats are almost identical to Bohm's, who no one would say is having a good spring. On the one hand, I worry about Bohm getting regular at bats, but the positive side may be that he gets to continue working with Long.Captain Obvious wrote: ↑Tue Apr 05, 2022 4:30 pm Both Stott, and Bohm have made the team according to Zolecki...

Winkelman did that math that everyone can get roughly this percentage of at-bats, which seems very reasonable...
If you assume that Hoskins and Segura sit 10% of the time, those starts go to Bohm and Stott respectively. Then you split SS (75% Didi, 25% Stott) and 3B (60% Bohm, 40% Stott). You end up with playing time as.
Segura 90%
Hoskins 90%
Didi 75%
Stott 75%
Bohm 70%

I would have rather they gave Didi away...and have Camargo be your main back up with Maton. I have little faith that Giardi will choose correctly of when to insert "the other guy"Christopher wrote: ↑Tue Apr 05, 2022 8:49 pm Winkelman did that math that everyone can get roughly this percentage of at-bats, which seems very reasonable...

At this point rather hold on to Didi to see if either he can bounce back and/or that Stott/Bohm are actually betterheadclown wrote: ↑Tue Apr 05, 2022 10:47 pmI would have rather they gave Didi away...and have Camargo be your main back up with Maton. Yeah let's hold onto and play Didi as long as possible. He's the thing keeping us from regular appearances by Camargo, Maton and even a return of Torreyes.

Don't really get the Didi hate. That pull swing works pretty well at CBP and you the last time he was fully healthy he wasn't all that bad of an asset.
