Torn UCL, so at least 4 more weeks of Harper as DH only. Cannot throw or play OF. He'll miss a couple games, too, for treatment.

Thank God for the DH, but I think it affecting him at the plate....perhaps making him be less patient...on track for only 47 walks

Bad injury is affecting someone's play genius insight.

Alex Carr
@AlexCarrMLB

The fact that Bryce Harper has managed an .847 OPS in a year where offense is the worst it’s been in decades — all with a torn UCL?

Wild.

With no DH, Harper would have been looking at 6-8 weeks on the DL.

God bless the DH.

So, other than the fact that they're screwed, how do you navigate Harper having to be the DH until August?

I think you have to play Schwarber in LF and Castellanos in RF every day. We're paying those guys too much to sit.

Then, since CF is a black hole anyway, you just put your best glove guy (LOL) out there and hope for the best.

If Moniak can hit decent in his minor league rehab, he will get a full shot

The fact that they are playing Quinn is just pathetic

Even if Moniak can hit, the question at this moment will be his CF glove, especially if he has to range wider to compensate for Schwarber & Castellanos. We're gonna get killed with extra-base hits and runners scoring from first.

Phillies are going to have a real interesting decision perhaps next year on Logan O'Hoppe. Dude is raking to the tune 1.003 OPS. We have JT for the rest of this year and 3 more years after that. Logan will be ready by Summer next year at the earliest and 2024 at the latest IMO.

Is it time to think about JT at 1st base and trading Rhys? I dont think anyone would take JT, given that contract and his decline at the plate. Im not just talking about this year, I thought JT under performed last year as well .783 OPS is not what 23M should get you and this years .614 certainly does not.
