It could. He manages in a way that devalues your young players, creates little room for growth and upside, and has guys looking over their shoulders. It could make an enormous difference. It could also mean nothing, but he certainly isn't adding anything.

Pretty much exactly right here. Need it.

Joe Girardi had one of these guys glued to the bench and thinks the other is a valuable every day player.

Because of the COVID year, I think he at least gets to the All-Star break.

Kapler wanted to hire Kai Correa here but was told he was too young and they wanted to saddle him with veteran bum coaches like Mallee and Thomson. Maybe they can right the wrong there and get big Kai hired after Girardi is finally gone.

Girardi's seat should still be very, very warm.

The Phillies have 27 games in May and it might be one of the toughest schedules for a month that any team will ever face.
They have already started 0-2. I think they easily could go 10-17 for the month or worse. This schedule is that tough. But to be fair, Giardi and squad, need to figure out to go 13-14 at worse, which really means 13-12 the rest of the month.

The pitching for the most part has been good, the defense has been better then most thought, save a few games. It is the offense that is totally fucking this teams chances. Outside of Bohm, no one is hitting right now.

Who ever has batted #1 in the lineup...is hitting .150 15 hits for the entire season .211 OBP and only .240 SLG....Giardi and the players MUST figure this out....and Mountie, it does fucking matter.

The one big difference IMO is the lack of patience and the poster boy for that is Harper. One of the great things about his year last year was that he did not force the issue by swinging at bad pitches despite not having much protection.

Hoskins was trying to pull everything, although I did see some better at bats last night

Castellanos was supposed to be this fiery guy, have not seen even a little bit of that.

I like Schwarber, but damn he is bad against LHP...he will hit a few HRs against them, but he is OPS .619 versus LHP

JT despite the HR, has been not producing, only 4 RBIs this year with 2 HRs. But digging deeper, he only has 12 at bats with RISP...that is hard to believe, but it speaks to how bad the top of the order has been this year.

Segura has been a major disappointment, but he is a professional hitter, hard to believe he wont get it going

Didi has been better than we thought, but he is hitting with zero SLGing, and as we all know, swings at almost every first pitch

CF has been a black hole most day...Odubel has had some good games, but he is such an idiot all the time it negates the few good things he does

Bohm has been our best hitter and he probably has the loudest outs too. He has been robbed consistently or hit the balls on a line at defenders. He has had 2 bad days in the field.
