Gibson has become a 3 inning pitcher.

The leadoff spot for the Phillies continues to kill them...5-48 this year so far

Knew that was going to happen as soon as I saw the domestic abuser warming up in the pen.

Seranthony gets squeezed and then Giardi with a pitching change...never works mid inning it seems....3 run HR about to lose another series on the road

horrible luck there in the 9th...Camargo hits a rocket that McMahon makes a nice stab at. 2-1 count to Stott and the asshole ump calls a ball that is clearly outside a strike....that is what infuriates me about baseball. Seranthony has the dude struck out, but blind bitch calls a strike a ball and then Stott gets fucked on a really bad call.

Either way, this team is now 2-8 in their last 10 games and 4-8 during an easy part of their schedule. Whoever Joe puts in the leadoff hole is doing NOTHING. Bryce starts hitting up, Castellanos can not buy a hit....ugh

He did have Blackmon struck out, but that wasn't ball four. He still had a chance to put him away. Seranthony's command wasn't sharp. He threw 24 piches. He's coming off TJ surgery. It was absoutely the right move. Familia threw well. Cron wasn't on his sinker. The mistake was throwing the slider. Was that his call, JT's or Joe's? That cost the Phils the game.

With this woeful offense, you’d think a creative manager might want to do some things to energize his team
Like, say, Showalter is doing with the Mets. Like maybe, being aggressive on the base paths , hit and running, maybe bunting away from the shift
And I can hear Girardi’s response “well, we’re not built that way”
Okay, so how’s that working out
If they’re u dear 500 by April 30, does Dombrowski have the balls to pull the trigger?
The Phils main problem is pitching and defense which compounds their problems at the plate!
A lot of these problems have been caused by a poor farm system. They've had poor scouting, poor development and have traded a lot of talent away.
At the major league level the Phillies aren't built to steal bases, hit and run, etc., because they are too slow and K too much. How many times have their runners already gotten picked-off at first?
The current mentality is to have a bunch of power hitters to hit HR. I believe this mentality has screwed-up some of their non power hitters in the past and causes excessive strike outs.
Team offense is 10 out of 30, while team pitching is 27 out of 30. Team defense is 23 out of 30.
They don't have a leadoff hitter. When was the last time they did? JRoll? They knew it was a need and they did nothing about it. They don't have a CF. They knew it and they did nothing about it. I like what they did with Castellanos and Schwarber, but one of the first things they should have tried to do was get a CF who is a legit leadoff hitter. I know they don't grow on trees, but it seems they never tried. If they had that, the lineup would (or at least could) fall into place.

Team is terrible. Bunch of guys hitting below .250, pitching stinks, manager stinks. Long summer ahead.
