2022 NFL Draft - Round 1 4/28/22 8PM

Post by FolesMVP09 »

After months and months of speculation - the draft is finally about to be here

Eagles draft 15/18 as we all know

Time for everyone's predictions

Eagles trade up 2-3 spots and draft Jamerson Willams
At 18 take George Karlaftis

Bigger trade up for Stingley or Hamilton, or Massive trade up for Gardner.

Here are my WR rankings for the Eagles based on talent and potential draft position. Guys whose draft position is much more tolerable may be higher than guys with more talent, but a higher draft position.

1. Jameson Williams - Clear cut #1. Star potential
2. Treylon Burks - Bigger guy, plays faster than his 40. Might be the steal of the WR crop.
3. Garrett Wilson - Honestly to me he seems like a rich man's Jalen Reagor. I'm not sure I buy the hype, especially at his draft spot.
4. George Pickens - Swag for days. He could be Freddie Mitchell or T.O. depending on his choices.
5. Jalen Tolbert - Again, his draft position is much better than some of these other guys, hence his spot here.
6. Christian Watson - If you want a size guy, he's the one I'd want for the Eagles again especially at the draft spot.
7. Chris Olave - I don't see it in him. Way overrated in my book.
8. Skyy Moore - Tackle breaking machine, which the Eagles really don't have much of in their WR room.
9. Drake London - Again, I don't see it in him. The size is great, but I just don't see that "it" factor with him.
10. Jahan Dotson - A poor man's Devonta Smith.

One of Stingley, Hamilton or J. Johnson will fall enough for the Eagles to move up or draft at 15
WR at 18 Olave is who is there and the Eagles take.

For me the most important part is who NOT to draft, for me it comes down to 4 guys:

Drake London...I want no part of a big receiver that has issues with seperation
Devonte Wyatt...he is not a 1st round guy, feels more like a 2nd, he benefited from all the talent around him
Jordan Davis...part time player who is a risk IMO
George Karlaftis...production does not match the parts

I'd rather trade back and take Burks or Pickens than take Olave at 18.

Burks is a mystery, boom or bust IMO...he also has separation issues off the line. Pickens could be amazing, but injury and conduct issues scare me

Really thinking the Eagles will be moving up to the 6th pick. Carolina wants one of the QBs and pick 15 is a better spot for that. They also need a LT, so I could see Howie putting a package together including Dillard and pick 15. The question is, how much more would they have to include. Some have suggested giving up both 1st round picks for #6....fuck all that noise.

Eagles get
pick 6

Panthers get
pick 15
Dillard
pick 83
2023 3rd round pick

I think you are wrong about London..."The ultimate respect for a wide receiver is when everyone knows the ball is going to him, yet the defense can’t
stop it. That sums up London’s junior season (15 targets per game), which was his first as a football-only athlete in his life. Formerly a two-sport athlete, his basketball background is evident with his elite high-pointing skills to play through contact and thrive above the rim. Overall, London needs continued development with his route running, but he provides big-play ability with his outstanding size, athleticism and ball skills, including extraordinary instincts when the ball is in the air."

The only WR I would take over him, J Williams.

Wouldn't do it as Phtown said, not one player away - they need a lot
