5-9 Sam Mills was stupidly dismissed initially for the same reason
The game tapes don't lie.

But these pernious lies cost this young man a 5yr contract and millions of dollars he can never recoup. At #13, Jordan Davis gets $17m with a $9.5m signing bonus. At #83, Dean gets a $5.1m contract with a $950k signing bonus. These people need to start to being held accountable for this shit. Sure, $950k is more money at one time than most people will ever see, but Dean put himself in position to earn that larger contract and through no fault or deed of his own it was ripped away.

No matter what the injury, he will heal. He was an amazing player on an amazing team. He was the leader of that defense. His football IQ is off the charts. It is pick 83...no matter how this turns out, this move by Howie was worth it everyday of the week and twice on Friday. And dont underestimate the value of having him and Davis on the same team...it will help both of them IMO.

I am not very versed in the 3-4 defense....what will that alignment look like for the Eagles, especially on the DL...does the smaller DEs become the LBers? And Fletch Williams and Hargrave become the DEs?

None of the teams told him he needed surgery, none of his doctors said he needed surgery. Dean said he will be a participant in the post draft camp next week. So somebody lied on this young man and cost him literally millions, besides besmearching his good name.

So maybe we see if he's limited at all in practice but it seems all that talk was all bullshit.

Kid said he was ready to play. These people willingly spreading this disinformation need to be shitcanned or banned.
I agree. If that's the case (and it's happened before), it's a really shitty thing to do. BUT, it does come to the advantage of the Birds - so there is that. Still - I despise people who unjustly find joy in other peoples' demise. And it certainly doesn't end with football.

I like the Howell pick for the Comm rags. He has good upside and gets to sit behind Carson.

Tariq Woolen - that's who I'd like to see the Birds take a shot at. Huge upside. Great size (6-3) and length. Ran a 4.26 or 4.27 at the combine. He's a press guy who has flaws if he's off the ball, but he loves meeting a wr at the LOS to make him work to get to his route. He's not a ball hawk nor does he have great hands - though he was a WR up until 2020. He's raw since he's only played CB for two years, cut could end up as a decent #2 or even slide to FS. I like boom / bust players once the 5th round comes.

EDIT: Wow. Whether or not the Birds even knew who this kid was, he was just taken right in front of them. :x

Just traded down. Was Woolen in Howie's sites only to be fleeced by Seattle?

Birds trade pick #154 to Doug & the Jags for picks 188 & 198.
