Meh. Feel about the same as when they hired Fletcher. This is such a typical Flyers' move.

Agreed.
Torts may end up being a good coach and help the Flyers become a competitive team again. But yeah, it really is a typical Flyers move. A safe, old guard, middle of the road choice. Trotz or Cassidy would have been my preference.

It wouldn't surprise me if Torts did make them better but the only "better" this team as constructed can really get is a nice 1st round exit or three. Need a full rebuild and not these aggro retools they're stuck trying over and over.

He's just a louder, more belligerent AV.

It didn't work with AV, what makes them think this will work with Tortorella?

The stumbling point with Trotz had to be his desire to get in to management after a three or so year stint behind the bench. I couldn't see Comcast being willing to do that. Money? Sure. Management position? Nope
Torts is soon to be 64. This is probably going to be his last HC job. I'm quite interested in who he will bring in as his assistants. One of them could very well be the next HC when Tortorella steps aside.

Makar Norris, Conn Smythe, Cup. Two picks after Patrick another in long line of Flyers swing and misses.

Flyers miss out on DeBrincat, going to the Sens foe the 7th and 39th picks.

[The Injury bug bites the @NHLFlyers again. Young RW Bobby Brink suffered a hip injury during off-season workouts that may require surgery. According to a team source no final determination on treatment has been made. The injury sounds sever enough that it will go into the season.]

Seriously. What the entire fuck.

Brink was one of the few bright spots to look forward to seeing. No word, no progress with Ellis, who knows about Couturier's back until he sees action and takes hits.

Light at the end of the tunnel is a train.
