They were talking about Melton on the Rights to Ricky Sanchez podcast a couple of weeks ago as part of mock trade that would have sent Matisse, Isaiah Joe and the 23rd pick to Memphis. Mike Levin said he loved Melton and that he would be the perfect combo guard off the bench to play with Maxey or Harden, but that he was a little hesitant to trade so much to get Melton. He must be ecstatic that they only had to give up Danny and the 23rd pick to get him.

Melton isn’t 6’7 sure, certainly need to do more, but he is a good
Player on a good contract.

The Sixers don’t have any 6’3 players either who are active defenders, hit 37% and 40% from 3, play with a chip, and can bang on somebody ;).

Melton is a good catch and shoot guard, but at 6-3, he is limited. I mean, if he has to come in and guard the Celtics' Brown, are you comfortable with that? They definitely need more catch and shoot but they didn't replace or improve on Green's 6-5 frame.

I'm leery of a 6-1, 6-3 backcourt when it's Maxey and Melton.

I agree with the contract. He needs to shoot 40%+, 37% isn't good enough. I just don't get the lack of urgency to address their biggest shortcomings, length and athleticism. There are 6-7 dudes who can catch and shoot, as well as defend.

I'd like to see Morey buy a 2nd Rd pick or two.

I do think we see more moves. Thybulle is going out, one of Bassey or Reed, etc

Everyone is getting longer and more athletic except the 76ers. Toronto takes yet another 6-9ish freak athlete to go with all the other 6-9 freak athletes they already have.

I want Reed in the damn rotation, not traded.

If Reed were a Raptor, he'd be playing significant minutes and already starting to realize his potential.

EJ Liddell is a poor man's Mikal Bridges.

Oh, one other thing, trading for Melton doesn't speak well for Jaden Springer's quick development. Same kind of players, except Melton's 3pt shot is well developed.
