If you think back to what he was considered 1 year ago, before his great run, that'd be considered a bonus. From roster filler to serviceable 4/5 works for me.
I agree - but some in the media went overboard on him

Nice win tonight - but 500ish remains this team's ceiling

Funny how different these two teams are, with their near-identical records.

Can totally see the Braves winning 12 of 15 and making a big run.

Hard to even imagine Phillies winning 2 or 3 series in a row, at this point. Can't get enough bats hot at once.

I'm not convinced at this point that a solid and cheap 5 is better than the fireman out of the pen. That might end up being more useful in the long term.

Teams are figuring out he can't hit the high fast ball. He needs to adjust. I think he will.

They have no days off for 2+ weeks, so they just want to give the starters an extra day of rest

Other teams have done it - just a different game from the 70s when starters would pitch 35+ times/year

Possibly. But I'm not sure either the reliever or the starting pitcher we saw Suarez as last year is the real thing. If he's just going to be "slightly above average," I think probably he's more valuable taking innings as a starting pitcher, especially given how bad the franchise is at finding depth there.
