Time will show us, but IMO if Jalen got the play calls that Gardner did yesterday, he too would have been very successful. For the most part the passing game was good yesterday due to good scheme and execution. Not to take anything away from Gardner, he did a very good job, epecially considering it was his first start for the Eagles and the defense/ST did him no favors. But I firmly believe Jalen with that game plan would have done just as good if not better...either way, having a dependable competent back up is a great thing and Gardner gives us that.

Something else to consider. Jalen and Gardner have a combined cap hit next year of 2.6M. There is a serious competetive advantage to that number.

I was hoping to see this graphic sooner than later because I knew what it would show. All this hype and talk about Minshew's day and it was effective, but pedestrian as hell. He barely threw a pass beyond 5yds off the LOS. As a team, they stay out of the middle of the field, so that held firm. But all this talk about Minshew's arm strength when every pass beyond 5yds was short and he never projected the ball down field, certainly not with any authority.

Minshew mania was fine for a day, heck give him a few days. he did what he should have done but all this talk of a "qb controversy" is nonsense and driven by media local and national. they scored what 3 fgs the entire second half against the worst defense.

i would not expect any learned eagles fan to think there is a controversy. the bigger issue is and continues to be the defense. giving up 3 straight TD's to Wilson to start the game is mind boggling. he was the lowest or damn near the lowest rated QB in the nfl.

There is really nothing to debate, it is the reason Gardner is not a starter....his arm strength is below average.
