Girardi pinch ran for Nicky C in the 10th when Nicky was the guy on 2nd, which I would have not done but let's just say that was the right call he kept Nicky in the game for the top of the 10th instead of putting Quinn in for defense knowing he would pinch run him in the bottom. If that doesn't show you a manager who is asleep at the wheel I don't know what does.

Good point.

3-17 with RISP. One of those, a hit by JT did not score a run, another a bouncer by Bohm hit 2nd base and was lucky as hell (he deserves a little luck)....but still 3-17....with all these accomplished hitters. This isn't last year where the pitcher has to hit, this is 2022. It is now 50 games into the season, and I dont think I have ever seen a team piss more wins away then this team. From the defense, to the bullpen, to some of the starters having bad outings, to the horrendous situational hitting.

This team so far is the 2011 Philadelphia Eagles....the Dream Team. Lots of noise in the off-season, zero substance.

But I do believe they can turn things around, but it starts with moving on from Giardi....he is not Rivers, Joe is a lame duck manager, Rivers, sadly has 3/24M left. Sam Fuld and DD know baseball, how can they really look at these decisions on a day to day basis and not think, "what is he doing". Dombroski/Fuld have to decide....make some moves toward fixing this season (trade with Oak) or think about 2023 and the future. Phillies do have a lot of players that are on the last year of their deal....and lottery tickets do hit from time to time at the deadline.

I would prefer they fix/turn this years team around, but they sure as fuck have made things more difficult. As much as I feel Giardi is at fault, these players are seriously under performing and need to be accountable.

They might have already waited too long. Plus, I'm not sure about the front office. DD certainly has the track record, but he knew the Phils had specific needs and waited until after the lockout to do anything significant, when the options were limited. Also, do we really know Sam Fuld knows baseball? Have we seen any evidence that he's qualified for this job?

Agree on the "waited too long" part, and now the Segura injury (out a month?) might be the straw that breaks the camel's back
