Shocker.

Doesn't sound like it was his idea.

He's been breaking down for most of the show talking to his regular callers and a few guests.

He just signed off. It's over.

Wow.

I've had a rocky relationship with Miss but I'm still surprised the way they've treated him. It's an awful industry.

WIP really needed a quality rival and from the beginning, they've fucked it all up.

They already have a replacement lined up

I wonder if he goes back to WIP or if that bridge was burned

The minute he got done with his announcement.

Total breakdown. Wow. That was rough as hell.

From what I have read, Mike's contract was up in a few weeks, and according to Mike, "both he and the company have agreed to go in another direction". So I guess it's possible that they just couldn't agree on money for a renewal. Or who knows, maybe there is more to it and it was purely 97.5 's decision to move on.

Overall I enjoyed Mike's time on WIP and The Fanatic. Although there were some times I thought he was a bit of a tool, like when he flipped out on his 97.5 co-workers on-air/TV, regarding the Central Park Karen who called police on a bystander black guy. But I guess we all flip out on occasion, and he did apologize.

I like 97.5's Devon Givens, who does a lot of Sixers commentary.

Way back in the day, I really liked when Mike was paired with the late Steve Fredericks on then 610WIP "Steve & Mike" show. They had a good rapport. The laid-back experienced veteran Fredericks and the feisty quick-tempered newcomer Missanelli made for interesting radio.

Apparently, Ty Johnson snaked Mikey's show right out from under him, he'll co-host with Hunter Brody of all people.

That show has zero chance of being successful. Reese and Marks will absolutely crush them.

That was one of my favorite local sports shows of all time. Listened to it daily

Boooooo. I was gonna say I hope it's not his sidekick Johnson. Not a big fan. He seems a bit too opinionated and pompous for my liking. Maybe that is an unfair assessment, but just the impression I get from the little I have seen/heard of him.

No. He's exceedingly pompous, arrogant and the worst part is he often had no idea what he's talking about.
