The offense has to get back on track to take them out of the equation.

Schwarber and Hoskins are killing them at 1-2, right now.
If there is any good news from pitching, Seranthony, Efflin, and Wheeler all threw yesterday with no issues.

I agree with Schwarber and Hoskins.

Ugly win all the sweeter given Brewers' collapse & loss

Mets & Braves tied for first place.
Division winner gets a bye.
Runner-up hosts (possibly the Padres or Phillies) in a best-of-three series played on three straight days.
One calculation teams will have to make is whether they can structure their rotations to pitch their #1 & #2 in the first two games of that three-game series, or whether they need them for division/playoff positioning in the final few days.

If the Phillies are "in" but hovering between #2 and #3 spot, you rest/save guys in the final series, right?

Caveat: All of this is moot if Phillies don't start playing better. Brewers could erase a three-game deficit in a snap.

With Scherzer going to the IL, it really does look like Braves will win the division

(While the Mets were going 51-34, the Braves went 62-24 and erased a 10.5-game deficit)
