No reason to totally shut down the passing game when Hurts was that hot. Let the young man eat.
Hurts not turning the ball over much is huge after the never ending Wentz turnovers.
He has the decision making capability of a high end 10yr vet. Unflappable.

I just don't understand the negativity about Gannon. He had a great game.
The Eagles looked motivated, while Minnesota didn't.

Good: Hurts, and the offense in the first half. That was as sharp as I seen Hurts all career.
The defense in the second half. Was as sharp as I ever seen under Gannon. Amazing what dialing up some blitzes will do . Slay single handidly won that game for the Eagles in the second half.

Bad: Offense in the second half. Kept moving the ball, just couldn't get it past the 50 yard line. Too many line penalties need to be cleaned up.

Ugly: Special Teams. If the game comes down to this later in the season, Eagles are screwed.

I was pleased, but theres work to do.

One thing?

Stoutland had best get in the ass of that OL, Mailata, Johnson and Dickerson in particular, for their many fuck ups with costly penalties that negated completed passes for big gains & 1st downs.

Unacceptable.

The ONLY thing stopping this offense is the penalties & mental lapses of the OL. I will also add that bogus OPI call on Smith that was bullshit.

Philadelphia loves an aggressive, menacing defense and they have the personnel to be that, yet Gannon is passive and soft and allows opposing QBs to get hot. Cousins is mistake prone, in games vs better QBs, letting them get hot is dangerous and puts games in jeopardy.

Jefferson is a top 5 WR and Thelin is dangerous. Slay and Bradberry showed they can cover M2M and yet Gannon plays them soft and it prevents the DL from getting home as much as they could. Playing tight man makes the QB hold the ball.

His bend don't break doesn't become effective inside the Eagles 30 and as a result, they give up too many TDs, when it's meant to force FGs and sacks to force punts.

Not much to nitpick about but this is Philly so...

I'm sure its been said before but the amount of times Reddick dropped into pass coverage is absurd. It might not be that many but once is too many. That's not why you brought him here.

agree with someone about the state of the special teams. kick block. atrocious blocking on punts. Id rather have Covey than REagor back there but Covey hasn't shown much, probably b/c of the aforementioned lack of blocking.

I'm Sorry but that's just nitpicking. Cousins, Jefferson, and Cook did virtually nothing. Minnesota scored only 1 TD. I take 1 game at a time, and last night was near perfection on defense. I'll worry about other games when they come. There's a VERY old saying - "Those who live by the blitz, die by the blitz".

This is dumb.

You also have a reading comprehension issue.

I said play tighter with the CBs to allow the DL to get home. I did NOT say Gannon had to blitz that much more often. 10-15 times a game is adequate. He blitzed 10 times last night. But he played too soft on 3rd downs in the 2nd half and only Cousins' choking prevented them from getting back in the game.
