It's nice having one more year of team control on Alvarado, before having to decide whether to really pay him
This thought is an absolute revelation considering where we were in May with him.

Just the millionth piece of evidence that you can't predict what a reliever will do in a single season, so you're better off not spending big bucks on them. Develop them or take flyers on cheap guys/potential bounce-back guys. (But not older guys who you're paying for what they did six years ago)
