What are Nola and Wheeler supposed to do when operating with zero margin for error?
Never imagined the offense would be the far greater September problem than the bullpen, which has been shaky but is holding together mostly.

I am not surprised that the offense has collapsed. They were getting by with the bottom of the order carrying them for too long. Too many players who turtle up down the stretchChristopher wrote: ↑Thu Sep 29, 2022 1:22 am What are Nola and Wheeler supposed to do when operating with zero margin for error?

10-13 in September
11-16 in their last 27

The inevitable September collapse happens again. This team is filled with mental midgets.
Just blow this up and start over

That is what I would do, but they won't. Segura will go and they will replace him; add a few low end starters and some reliever lottery tickets
Next year will be the same 80-85 wins; in the wild card hunt, but will come up short as usual

I sadly agree. I’ve been advocating for starting over for the past few seasons. This group has shown they are nothing but losersFolesMVP09 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 29, 2022 1:38 amThat is what I would do, but they won't. I actually think they'll sign a nine-figure free agent to sell tickets, but they won't address the core lineup or defense issues.
And they'll again be forced to throw away money on bullpen veterans because of lack of developing arms.
